Activities

For Fall-Winter 2024/25  we currently have one field trip (October 5) and are beginning our winter lineup of evening presentations on November 14 – Thanks to all those who will volunteer their time to these events. As there will be additions and changes as the season progresses,  please always check the Meetings and Field Trip pages for details, or join the Bulkley Valley Naturalists Facebook group for updates.

Evening Meetings

Typically held on intermittent Thursday evenings (7:30 pm) during winter months at the Old Church in Smithers.  For those who can’t meet in person, we also aim for hybrid meetings, available online through BC Nature’s Zoom account

All welcome!  Check Meetings for specific events.

Admission is free for members.  For non-members, we welcome a small donation to offset the room rental charges.  Information about joining the BVN is available at the meetings or on our Membership page.

Field Trips
Field trips are offered by members and visiting naturalists sporadically throughout the year.

Field trips feature local flora and fauna, and sites of interest and importance for natural history in the Bulkley Valley and surrounding area.

All welcome! Check Field Trips for specific events.

NOTE: Members are strongly encouraged to organize, lead or take part in field trips.  Field trips will only run if enough people participate. Our thanks to all those who put in time planning these events.
